Ingredients

  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • 1 tsp stevia or monk fruit sweetener (optional)
  • 150ml sparkling water or soda water
  • Crushed ice
  • Extra mint sprig and lime slice for garnish

Method

  1. 1Place the mint leaves in a tall glass.
  2. 2Add the lime wedges and sweetener if using.
  3. 3Gently muddle the mint and lime together to release the oils and juice. Be careful not to over-muddle as this can make the mint bitter.
  4. 4Fill the glass with crushed ice.
  5. 5Top with sparkling water and stir gently to combine.
  6. 6Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime slice.
  7. 7Serve immediately with a straw.

Tips for Success

  • Clap the mint leaves between your palms before adding to release more aroma.
  • For extra refreshment, add a few cucumber slices.
  • Keep mint fresh by storing stems in water like flowers.
